Region of Puno
It is situated in the South-eastern part of Peru and shares the world’s highest navigable lake (3,800 m.a.s.l.), with the Republic of Bolivia. It also possesses important archaeological resources and historical monuments. In the region and around Lake Titicaca, three cultures converged: The Aymara, Quechua and Spanish, giving rise to a mixed ethnic group which is still alive in its population, as well as in its artistic and cultural expressions.
