The Chachapoyas Route (6 days / 5 nigths) from USD $ 561

The city of Chiclayo is this program’s starting point, travelling by night, on a private transportation, to the city of Chachapoyas and returning by the same route.

We will visit many of Amazonas´ main cultural and natural attractions, such as Chipuric’s Mausolea, Karajia’s Sarcophaguses, La Pitaya ’s Petroglyphs, Macro’s Archaeological Complex, Revash’s Mausolea, the typical village of Leymebamba’s museum and Kuélap’s Fortress; a majestic architectural work built by the Chachapoyas, on top of a high mountain. It is the mountainous jungle’s most imposing monumental complex, and is surrounded by cliffs and precipices on three of its four sides.

Inside its fortified walls rising more than 20 meters high, it shelters 505 living quarters, the majority of which have a circular layout.

Finally, we will visit the famous and impressive Cataract of Gocta; the world’s fourth highest, which is surrounded by exuberant nature.

THE CHACHAPOYAS ROUTE PROGRAM

DAY 01 – Chachapoyas: Transfer in Private Service: Chiclayo / Chachapoyas

• 8:00 a.m.: Departure from Chiclayo , heading to the city of Chachapoyas , on a private vehicle
• Box lunch on the way
• 5:00 p.m.: Arrival in the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 02 – Chachapoyas: Mausolea of Chipuric / Sarcophaguses of Karajia

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the Province of Luya – Lamud
• Observation of the Mausolea of Chipuric
• Going by the picturesque villages of Cohechan and Cruzpata
• Guided excursion to the Sarcophaguses of Karajia
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 03 – Chachapoyas: Petroglyphs of La Pitaya / Cataract of Gocta

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the village of Cocachimba
• Guided visit to the Petroglyphs of La Pitaya
• Hike from Cocachimba to the Cataract of Gocta
• Observation of flora and fauna in the cloud forest
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 04 – Chachapoyas: Archaeological Complex of Macro / Fortress of Kuélap / Overnight in Tingo

• Breakfast at the hotel
• 8:00 a.m.: Guided excursion to the Archaeological Complex of Macro
• Going by the picturesque villages of Nuevo Tingo, Choctamal and María
• Guided excursion to the Fortress of Kuélap
• Lunch in the area
• Transfer to the locality of Tingo and accommodation at the Estancia El Chillo Hostel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 05 – Chachapoyas: Mausolea of Revash and Leymebamba’s Museum / Overnight stay in Tingo

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the Ingenio’s area
• Guided hike to the pre-Incan Funerary Site of Revash
• Lunch in the area
• Guided visit of the Mallqui Center Museum , in the locality of Leymebamba
• Return to the locality of Tingo and transfer to the hostel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 06 – Chachapoyas: Transfer Tingo – Chiclayo

• Breakfast at the hotel
• 8:00 a.m.: Departure from the locality of Tingo, heading to the city of Chiclayo , on a private vehicle
• Box lunch on the way
• 5:00 p.m.: Arrival in the city of Chiclayo and transfer to the hotel or airport.
