This is a classical program which allows you to get to know Trujillo’s cultural and archaeological part, with its main representative icons, such as the Huacas of the Sun and Moon, the impressive archaeological Complexes of Chan Chan, in the Moche Valley and El Brujo, in the Chicama Valley, museums, the city’s Historical Center, with its main colonial monuments and mansions, as well as the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) and the Cathedral, all of which is complemented with a tour to nearby places in the countryside and valleys of exuberant beauty and with a spring-like climate, finally leading us to the emblematic Seaside Resort of Huanchaco, to enjoy the sea, its beaches and the exquisite marine food, such as the famous Ceviche; Peru’s flag dish.

PROGRAM

DAY 01          Arrival in Trujillo / Tour to the Huacas of the Sun and Moon

• Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to your hotel
• Free morning
• Lunch on your own account
• 2:00 p.m.: Departure on a tourist transportation, and excursion to the Moche Valley with a visit to a craft ceramic workshop
• Visit to the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, where we’ll have a chance to appreciate the huge walls that compose the Huaca of the Sun and nearly half a km. further along, stands the imposing Huaca of the Moon
• 5:00 p.m.: Return to the city and transfer to your hotel
• Dinner on your own account
• Hotel night.

DAY 02          City Tour / Shoe and Handicraft Fairs

• Breakfast at your hotel
• 9:00 a.m.: Visit of Trujillo’s Historical Center, of the Huaca of the Dragon or Rainbow, the Cassinelli Museum, Casa Urquiaga, Casa Emancipación, Iturregui Palace, Main Square (Plaza de Armas) and observation of the Cathedral’s façade
• Transfer to your hotel
• Lunch on your own account
• Free afternoon for purchases, in shoe and handicraft fairs
• Dinner on your own account
• Hotel night.

DAY 03           Tour of the Archaeological Complex of Chan Chan / Huanchaco’s Resort

• Breakfast at your hotel
• 9:00 a.m.: Visit of Chan Chan’s Museum which displays a collection of archaeological objects belonging to the different cultures that inhabited the Moche Valley
• Tour of the Archaeological Complex of Chan Chan, the impressive sun-dried mud brick city, with its beautiful architecture, decorated walls, narrow streets, stairways, temples and squares
• Tour of Huanchaco’s Seaside Resort, observation of the “caballitos de totora” (Little totora horses), a kind of crafted raft proceeding from the Mochica and Chimú cultures, and visit to the local handicraft fair
• Typical lunch (Not included in the price)
• Return to the city and transfer to your hotel
• Dinner on your own account
• Hotel night.

DAY 04           Tour to El Brujo Archaeological Complex / Lady of Cao’s Museum / Departure Transfer

• Breakfast at your hotel
• Departure on a tourist transportation to the Chicama Valley , and tour of the Archaeological Complex El Brujo, with a visit to the Huacas of Cao Viejo , Partida and Prieta
• Visit of the Lady of Cao’s Museum
• Transfer and return to your hotel
• Lunch on your own account
• Free afternoon
• At the indicated time, transfer to the airport or bus station.
