Larco Archaeological Museum (Half Day)

Without a doubt, it is one of Lima´s largest, complete and best organized museums, which contains an exceptional archaeological, historical and anthropological wealth, with remains dating from 8000 to 2000 b.C., 45,000 pieces or objects proceeding from pre-Hispanic and Incan cultures, on display in its nine exhibition halls:

The Gold and Jewels´ Hall, with precious and astounding Incan objects, the Stone Hall, with rustic elements from the pre-Ceramic period; the Vault´s Hall, with pieces of fine goldsmith work from ancient Peru; the Ceramics´ Hall and its didactic exposition of pre-Colombian ceramics´ production process; the Metals´ Hall, presenting the development of pre-Incan and Incan metallurgy and goldsmith work; the Cultures´ Hall, with an evolutionary exposition of cultures in pre-Colombian Peru; the Textiles´ Hall, displaying samples of the evolution of pre-Colombian textiles; and the Erotic Hall, exhibiting pieces with erotic themes, from pre-Colombian cultures.

  • Guided visit of the Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum
