Hasty Chachapoyas 2 days / 1 night

This short program starts in the city of Chachapoyas , with the visit of two of the main cultural and natural attractions, in Amazonas: The Fortress of Kuélap; a majestic architectural work built by the Chachapoyas, on top of a high mountain. It is the mounainous jungle’s most imposing monumental complex, and it is surrounded by cliffs and precipices, on three of its four sides. Within its fortified walls of more then 20 m .in height, it shelters 505 living quarters, the majority of which, with a circular layout. Afterwards, we we will contemplate the famous and impressive Cataract of Gocta; the fourth highest in the world, which is surrounded by exuberant nature. Along the way, we will also visit La Pitaya ’s Petroglyphs and Macro’s Archaeological Complex.

HASTY CHACHAPOYAS PROGRAM

DAY 01           Archaeological Complex of Macro / Fortress of Kuélap

• 4:00 a.m.: Transfer from the bus station to the hotel
• Breakfast at the hotel
• 8:00 a.m.: Guided excursion to the Archaeological Complex of Macro
• Going by the picturesque villages of Nuevo Tingo, Choctamal and María
• Guided excursion to the Fortress of Kuélap
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel
• Dinner on your own account.

DAY 02           La Pitaya ’s Petroglyphs and Gocta’s Cataract

• Breakfast at the hotel
• Transfer to the village of Cocachimba
• Guided visit of the Petroglyphs of La Pitaya
• Hike from Cocachimba to the Cataract of Gocta
• Observation of flora and fauna, in the cloud forest
• Lunch in the area
• Return to the city of Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel or bus station.
