Celebración del Día de la Música Criolla en Lima

Day of the Creole song

The Día de la Canción Criolla is a Peruvian festivity celebrated yearly on October 31. The event celebrates the criollo culture of Peru.

If your want to celebrate The Day of Creole music, you should opt for a peña: “A marinera limeña, a birthday serenade at midnight, and then the musicians come on. Two guitars, two cajóns and four voices come together on the stage. Waltzes, polkas, Afro-Peruvian music… they sing what the public asks for.”

The Hotels use this fest as an opportunity to offer a buffet full of criollo dishes. The dishes most in demand are those prepared and served in the moment, like ceviche and lomo saltado. As for desserts, a suspiro a la limeña to be super popular.
