Geographical Situation

The Region of Loreto is situated in the North and North-east of the national territory, on the border with Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil. It has a surface of 368,851.95 km², which makes it the largest region or department which represents about 29% of the country’s surface.

Geographical Relief

Its territory is mainly of the Amazonian Basin. It is relatively flat and possesses two altitudinal levels: Omagua and rupa rupa.
